Track Name: Calling All The Children of the Night
there will be shadows in your heart
whenever light decides to part
and all the world will fade away
you'll be left alone, and I will hear you say

calling all children of the night
curse the sun and kill the light
shut your eyes and shut them tight
calling all children of the night

the blackness deviates from your aura
no lover's flame ignites this sinister mennora
and when in doubt you pout like Pandora
your kamikaze heart cries Tora! Tora! Tora1

so read my runes and learn the sacred spell
and toss a coin on down your darkest wishing well
will blackest night prevail? only time will tell
I call my armies to do battle
(with all the minions of Hell)
Track Name: Ophelia Jones
all aboard the ultra train
fair ladies and your fiends
the ballroom’s oh so crowded
but we’re glad you could make the scene
we’ll make believe we’re dead
and make the world believe our lie
we’ll drink up all the moonlight
and we’ll dance until we die
we’re all dressed up in our sunday best
and we got our fangs in tight
all the ladies bark with their lips so dark
but if you get too close they bite
boy if you want the chicks to come and
rock your world
I got a pill to chill your bones
come on and let me introduce you to my
good friend Ophelia Jones

pleased to meet you sweet Ophelia Jones
your fingers touch my blood and my mind is blown
pleased to meet you sweet Ophelia Jones
take me high but don’t forget to take me home

the world is oh so colorful
when Ophelia hangs around
she’ll pick you up and make you cry
but she will never let you down
she’s a classic girl in a rainbow world
all wrapped up in a tight surprise
so if your stash got some cold hard cash
you can give this girl a ride

so let’s drink to the devil
and dance to the dead
and make ourselves some noise
cause when Ophelia helps you up to your feet
you’re gonna stagger around with poise
she’ll get you high as a kite
but when it hit midnight
she gonna break your brittle bones
she gonna make you bleed
before she fill your need
cause she my sweet Ophelia Jones
Track Name: Fangs Out First
the day collapsed, I found myself upon the floor
I donned my cape and gloves and glided out the door
I stepped into the Metro, surrounded myself with darling little girls
one took me by the hand, said "Sir I'd like my neck to have some pearls."
I led her to the men's room, said "Darling, do your worst,
but fangs out first."

I've haunted liquor stores in San Berghetto town
all the methlab mamas, they really like to boogie down
but there was one gloomcookie tweaker girl named Sonic Boom
she took me to her candlelit and wiccan pagan vegan room
she smiled through pointy teeth, I said "Girl I'm about to burst,
but fangs out first."

Sometimes I feel real bad when the little girls kiss me
Maybe it's because they never knew the pizza guy I used to be
or maybe it's because I dress like Dracula and I'm 44
I bite like Bela, big like Boris, built to score
You're hungry for my love, but I'm here to quench your thirst
But fangs out first
Track Name: Parish Lights
The hills echo the sound
Of static on the radio
The parish lights are drown
Under crashing waves of rock n' roll
She goes down on the car
The engine heats up her back
Opens up for a new scar and says
When I leave here I'm never looking back

I'm gonna be a star
Just for right now something's out of tune
I'm gonna be a star
Until then this is something to do
Ya best not finish boy before i am through

She runs in the house to find her savior
He's see-thru and whiskey flavored
He's in the backroom where Jennifer found herself
She poured it into a mural and put it on the shelf

Well c'mon, c'mon
(c'mon and c'mon)
You go so much to do
Go on, go on
(get goin' go on)
Beat your brain till you see black and blue
Strap on your guitar
You're gonna be a star
There's one thing you should know
The brightest star shines all alone

How much do you really need?

You squander yourself in turns
Night after night
Betting on a dream to make
Everything alright

You forgot who you are
Believed all the dirty lies they sold to you
You might not be a star
But you're more than just something to do
Better than just something to do

Wake up sweet child from your dreamin'
Breath and wipe the stardust from your eyes
Don't need a part or a song
You were alright all along
So take my hand, don't let go
We gotta hold on to eachother
We can shine, we'll shine together
And you know we'll never
Be alone
Track Name: William Wilson
dismal, abysmal, I sing alone
to relate the tale of a man who not stop following me home
his name was William, ah, but so was mine
I'd drink in my boudoir but William refused to partake in all of my sinister crimes
playing cards with you, William Wilson
going to a costume ball tonight
drinking wine with you, William Wilson
Edgar Allan gonna make it turn out right

Shivers up my spine while the thunder crashes
ashes ashes and we both fall down
there's nothing more Victorian than hearing you historians
tell the tale of the faceless man who would follow me around
he told me that I had to change my ways
he whispered and he wagged his finger in my face
had a king and a queen hiding high up in my sleeve
and a fortune was mine, but he gave me all away

All alone with you, William Wilson
you hide behind my own sin-saddened eyes
everything I do, there's William Wilson
I can run, I can run, but I cannot hide

And if you have to look like me that's fine
there's nothing in my heart but a guilty mind
this imaginary world I live in
makes me feel the same way you do I'm certain
so pull back the curtain
and let the sunshine steal you away
are you my twin brother? a shade like no other
who's come out to play?
well perhaps I'll save my sin for another day
Track Name: The Riddle
sun is rising
and you're still alone
taste of what you once knew
sweetly lingers in your bones
watching the clock
an unreturned stare
if she you knew your thoughts
do you think she'd care?

I open flowers
without me they're nothing
I open hands
otherwise, they're closed

they try to control
I'm unlike any substance they can
weddings, birthdays, valentines
but some things you just can't ban
you'll never escape me
I'm why you exist
supply and demand
junkie and fix

I walk in dreams
you'll never escape from
I guide your heart
until its last beat
Track Name: Preying Mantis
your blinding smile
arriving late
your lifting laugh
my nerves sedate
it's been so long
since we've known love
you watch me sleep
I feel your eyes
when I awake
it's no surprise
to find you gone
you're with the night
then I feel you climbing in my bed
I know you're preying on my head
you lift me up and grip me
I know I'm yours
I'm yours
I spend my brightest days asleep

And when the day
comes around
you've disappeared
without a sound
I like to think
I'm still alive
and I feel you pulsing in my veins
I know my heart is
not the same
it's been checked out
in your name
it's yours
it's yours
I'm yours
I spend my darkest nights
with you
Track Name: Broken Things
Through night, a hope / give wings to my prayers
let it fly free or come back to me / if there's no angel who cares
I'd die for a touch, I don't ask much / that's what Stephanie said.
I take all I can, or all I can stand / Don't let it go to my head.

Don't waste your emotion on broken things
I'll waste your devotion, I'm a broken thing

If you don't have time, or you lose your mind / you can always have mine
Strange little girl, lost in the world / find me down by the sea
give me some wine, white like my eyes / that's what Stephanie said.
Stares in the air, I'll you see up there / I'll have the sky for a bed.

Don't waste your emotion on broken things
I'll waste your devotion, I'm a broken thing

Wind whips through my eyes, it cools my mind
Why did you leave me here? with nothing to feel, nothing to fear
I strain for your voice, absence of choice / I don't see you up there
Can't feel your flesh, can't feel the air.

Dreams visit for pain, run like the rain
I'll always be here / With nothing to feel, nothing to fear

I have no more emotion, I'm a broken thing
You're lying with my devotion, we're broken things
Through night, a hope / give wings to my prayers
let it fly free or come back to me / if there's no angel who cares
I take all I can, or all I can stand / Don't let it go to my head.
I'd die for a touch, I don't ask much / that's what Stephanie said.
Calling All Children of The (Night) 3/25/00

there will be shadows in your heart
whenever light decides to part
and all the world will fade away
you'll be left alone, and I will hear you say

calling all children of the night
curse the sun and kill the light
shut your eyes and shut them tight
Track Name: The Girl With The Wandering Eye
the prettiest girl I ever did see
had a wandering eye, but not for me
which eye to look into?
how awkward that can be

then she touched my hand
and made it all okay
and when she smiled, the world fell away
and she said

"I know your dilemma, but imagine mine
I've lived in closets for a long long time
I've hid beneath the bed, when my parents fled
When it was green day at school, they dressed me in red.

And to top it all off, I can't control my
right eye
I can't control my right eye.
It does what it pleases, but sees beautifully.
And when I sleep, it sleeps with me."

We walked around the park
sunlight left us in the dark
her sight was better than mine
she steered me from a cliff
I took this as a sign

I realized in the nick of time,
seeing as I could control mine,
they'd wander no more
and I kissed her eyes,
on the last cold day of February.
Track Name: Woe Is Me
the sun went down and all the lights went out in Blackfoot, Tennessee
and there upon the steps of St. Eulalia, momma died bringin me
so Sister Isadore took up the chore of raising up this child
she said "Son, stay away from carnivals," and released me to the wild

So now I drive a painted wagon, across the injun's holy land
for I have joined a traveling carnival, and lead the carnival band
but I'll never sleep past dinner, and I'll bathe in every town
and I'll never join the circus, 'cause I'm quite afraid of clowns
I'll take a bride and she'll be pretty, she will ride on the trapeze
and we will live our days so happy, never hearing a "Woe is Me."

I was once ramblin thru Virginia had my crimson headlights on
some madame kicked me in the kidneys, peeled me gently from her lawn
so the children that we're comin', tell the gypsies "Hit the road"
For I have joined a traveling carnival, and got my buttons sewed
but I never sleep past dinner, and I bathe in every town
and I'll join the circus, 'cause I'm quite afraid of clowns
and oh the bride I took took her own life, stepped off the high trapeze
and in her goodbye note the only thing she wrote
was "Woe is me."

Now I'm barefoot in Alabama and my chains are getting wet
I've got life plus ten to remember but I pray that I forgot
so tell the Sister that I'm happy and I'm readin' lots of books
and take my wagon and my instrument and throw 'em to the crooks
but I never slept past dinner, and I bathed in every town
and I never joined the circus, 'cause I've always been afraid of clowns
and oh the bride I took that died was not a suicide, you see
I caught her going down
on a circus clown
I killed them both
and woe is me
Track Name: Polterguy
somebody hit me with a hammer
crushed my skull and made me die
it was a ball peen hammer
but now I'm back I'm Polterguy

they threw my body in the river
they thought I'd go out with the tide
it was the Mississippi River
and now they call me Polterguy

I wandered to a truck stop
hitched a ride to Nueva York
I found the man with the hammer
I plucked eyes out with a fork
I found some of his buddies
in a bordello playing cards
killed one with a machete
I chased the other to his car
I floated through the passenger door
he begged me not to die
I slit his throat said "No comprende.
Porque yo soy El Polterguy."
Track Name: Hope Chest
Where this unnamed bride was wed she
felt her hands collapse around her cadence
(in accordance with heaven’s.)
Where she once slept, she crept in quiet clothes
to her hope chest
opened, it became further away
shut again
shut again…
